Dare to Wear

Red: Love, excitement, energy, passion, power, heat, strength. These are just a few descriptive words that come to mind when I think of this vibrant hue. It's warm and intense, and I love it!

I highly encourage the wear of a red lipstick or a stain. It has a certain power and sophistication. I know it can be intimidating if you haven't tried this makeup look before. I say start off with a more subtle tone. Try a red lipstick with a bit of a brown undertone (Mac Cosmetics "dubonnet" or "spice it up"). You also have to remember that there are many different textures to consider. A sheer formula will be soft and subtle, whereas a matte is bold and dramatic. The rest of your makeup should be kept clean and simple. That way you won't feel overdone, and it will have a timeless feel. The best advise I can give someone wanting to try this look is to have fun and be playful.
